ABCD Retreat:  Developing Positive Political Skills for Departmental Managers

In this time of limited resources, we need to be more effective in getting our fair share. The methods we use in reaching for those resources and in seeking support for the way we wish to operate, is at the heart of politics. In this unique ABCD retreat in the political epicenter of the universe, we will explore ways to deal with bureaucratic pressures while maintaining a strong vision of what we would like our department to be. Learn how to be an effective advocate for that vision, forming relationships, as well as dealing with adversaries. (ABCD members only)

Creating a web site that is both accessible and usable for disabled visitors is challenging, but achievable.  This can be accomplished without adversely affecting the experience of the rest of your site’s visitors.  If approached thoughtfully, accessibility and usability may even improve the creative design of a web site.

Role of Biomedical Communications in Digital Imaging Management
Panel TBA

Today we are not so much the producers of digital images, as we are the managers of images. The challenge for us is how to effectively manage an overwhelming amount of images. An international panel of experts will discuss and explore the solutions offered by various systems that provide archiving, retrieval, managing metadata, secure portal access and the considerations in selecting the most appropriate system to meet the needs of your company or institution.
