During his lunch break from duty in the Parkland ER, General Surgery--resident physician Ron C.
Jones heard a page for Dr. George T. Shires; Professor of Surgery and Chairman of the Department
of Surgery, University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School. When the second page came over
the speaker, Dr. Jones answered the phone. The operator told him that the President had been
shot and was being brought to the emergency room. Dr. Jones and the other ER staff members went
to the ER where they found the President motionless, that early afternoon on November 22, 1963.
The sounds, the emotions and aftermath that followed, forever changed their lives. Dr. Jones has assembled an historical and visual documentation of those traumatic hours and will be presentating "The President has been shot and they are bringing him to the emergency room".
This special presentation for all attending WIDE OPEN SPACES is scheduled for Sunday, June 24 at 9:00am. We are extremely fortunate that the distinguished Dr. Jones is available to share his experiences and answer questions following the talk. The events that occured in the Parkland ER that November afternoon has left a lasting impact in American history and in all areas of Biocommunications.
Many of us still remember that day and where we were when as we heard "the president was shot in Dallas". For those who would like more information before listening to Dr. Jones' talk, please visit these websites:
