The purpose of this list is to collaborate and share ideas with colleagues in all aspects of health sciences communications. This is a moderated list.

Recommendations
To help the list run smoothly a set of recommendations for subscribers has been established. By following these recommendations you will help us keep the list running smoothly.

NO Flaming
"Flaming " means insulting or personal attacks on an individual or their perceived viewpoint. The whole idea of the list is to be a resource for information and a place to share ideas.

This is a message moderated list, meaning that all messages sent to the list will first be forwarded to the list moderators. Once accepted by the moderator(s), the message will be sent to the entire list. There is no formal policy on message content, almost anything goes - facts and ideas are open to impassioned discussion and debate, personal attacks however will be rejected by the moderators.

NO Large messages or 'Attached' Files
Please don't send file attachments or extremely large messages to the list. While many people connect to the internet via corporate LAN's or personal high speed connections (cable modems, DSL, etc.) many connect via dial-up modem. Large messages and file attachments can take a long time to download, even with a 56k modem. Also, some subscribers pay directly for receiving and storing messages. Computer viruses are another concern. It seems a new virus makes the evening headlines every few months and most are spread via e-mail file attachments. Because of this, many people are reluctant to open attachments.

If you have an image or graphic file to share, or you want to share your CV, rather than send it to the list, try this: post the file to a web site and send the URL instead. There are numerous web sites that allow you to create your own web page or store files - FREE.
