Chicago-area healthcare corporation seeks Manager, Global External Communications to create communication programs related to corporate reputation, social responsibility and sustainability initiatives. New position. Build function from scratch. Programs include: very advanced corporate positioning and messaging, proactive media relations, stakeholder research. Mine story ideas across company. Plan and execute communications programs. Serve as resource for global communications colleagues. Develop internal and external sustainability communications plan and execute report. Chicago-area candidates only. No relocation provided. 5-10% travel.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor?s degree required in Journalism, Communications, or English plus 5-7 years of PR and media relations experience. Healthcare/pharma industry and mix of agency and corporate experience ideal. Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to product communication desired. Prefer direct communications experience in areas of corporate reputation, sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Must have strong writing, editing, pitching skills. Global PR experience a plus.
Able to: build relationships with reporters, pitch stories to media and garner results. Identify and analyze business trends, create messaging, develop internal and external relationships to reinforce company?s messages. Use communications to support products and corporate reputation. Technical knowledge of web and print production processes a must. Demonstrated versatility in print and web media relations.
Candidate is self-directed and comfortable coaching corporate leaders. Strengths in managing multi-faceted communications projects in deadline-driven environment with cross-functional teams, including designers and writers.

Responsibilities:
Keep current on sustainability and corporate responsibility issues including social, economic, and environmental impacts. Issues also include patient safety and access to healthcare. Manage elements of sustainability reporting project: develop stories, collect data and synthesize information; refine and update existing website; manage production of print companion piece; help edit and write copy; serve as champion for approval process. Pitch and communicate key messages to global media. Maintain positive relationship with reporters covering CSR issues and healthcare industry. Promote corporate reputation, its plans and goals with other departments of corporation, including technology and channel application. Work with inside and outside consultants/vendors - including designers, writers, etc. Interact with sustainability team. Benchmark with other companies for continuous improvement. Manage project budget, messaging and branding. Develop compelling messages and communications plan aligned to stakeholders. Pursue proactive opportunities to enhance reputation through media.

Payers - if you have pharmaceutical brand marketing and managed care experience; we have 4 new open positions due to new FDA indications that have been approved! Oncology, Asthma or Rheumatology/Immunology are all areas we need help with! 4 new clinical specialist roles to join a large team of Training that are now re-training executives down to field sales reps on new indications. Position is very visible and cross works with all levels of executives and employees at home office. Company pays full relocation, huge promotionability in these roles, working on training modules, training programs, would be great for a RN Onc Nurse, Onc Clinical Trials Manager who already does patient education or the Medical Liaison that is tired of a big territory and heavy travel!

Director that came from pharmaceuticals with his PharmD is supportive of hiring a new HEOR Manager from pharma, medical products/devices or the other side such as Consulting leader (McKinsey, Bain, etc) that are wanting to get their break into the pharma or device industry. Full paid relocation to HQ location with bonus, base, stock, etc and moving up the ladder!
